Bethany Hamilton
Bethany Melani Hamilton is 22 years old and born on February 8th 1990. She became a professional sufer in 2007, but it didn't come easily.
At age 13 on October 31st 2003 Bethany went surfing with her bestfriend Alana Blanchard, Alana's brother Byron and Alana's dad Holt. The waves that day were not the greatest but they didn't care, any chance to go surfing and they would take it!
Little did they know that, going surfing that day would change Bethany's and so many others life.
That Halloween day Bethany was attacked by a shark, and lost her left arm and 60% of her blood in the process.
Being a strong Christian Bethany believed that God had a special plan for her life and with faith, perserverance, and passion for the sport Bethany was back on her board within a month!
Now 9 years later she has written two books inspired millions around the world and has a major motion picture made about her "Soul Surfer" an amazing movie about her life, through the good and bad, Bethany is pertrayed perfectly. She is an amazing women with passion for Jesus and surfing. We love you Bethany!
